Block Leagues Terms of Service
Last updated: DATE AT LAUNCH
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Max One Studios ("we", "us") for the mobile game Block Leagues ("the game"). By downloading or playing the game, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not play the game.
1. Who can play
Anyone can play Block Leagues. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should read these Terms with you and agree to them for you. MATCH THIS TO THE AGE DECISION IN THE PRIVACY POLICY
2. Your licence to play
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download the game and play it on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment.
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent or redistribute the game or any part of it
- reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the game, except where the law allows it
- use cheats, bots, scripts, modified versions of the game or any other unauthorized software
- use the game in any way that breaks the law or harms other players
3. Leagues, leaderboards and fair play
Block Leagues has weekly leagues and leaderboards, shared with our game Domino International.
- Play fair. Scores must come from normal play. Cheating includes hacking, using exploits or bugs on purpose, faking scores, running more than one account to boost rankings, and automated play.
- We protect the leagues. If we believe a score or account is not genuine, we may remove scores, reset ranks, or suspend or remove the account, with or without notice.
- Computer fill-in players. While the player community is small, some league spots may be filled by computer-controlled players so that every league group has enough competitors. CONFIRM: the game should label these players clearly, for example with a small icon.
- Leagues can change. League rules, groups, schedules, tiers and the weekly reset time may change. Leagues may be paused or switched off at any time.
4. Display names and conduct
If you choose a display name for the leagues (pictures come from the game's own set), it must not:
- be offensive, hateful, sexual or threatening
- pretend to be another person, a brand or Max One Studios
- include personal information such as a phone number or address
- break anyone else's rights
We may change or remove a name that breaks these rules, and suspend accounts that keep breaking them.
5. Ads and rewarded ads
The game is free and supported by ads. Some features, such as rescues when you run out of moves, are unlocked by choosing to watch an ad. Ads come from third parties (Google AdMob), and we are not responsible for advertisers' products or websites. Ads may not always be available, and rewards depend on finishing the ad.
6. Points, coins and progress
Points, coins, levels, ranks and league positions in the game are for fun only. They have no real-world money value, cannot be bought, sold or exchanged, and are not your property. We may adjust them, for example to fix a bug or remove a cheated score.
7. Our content
The game and everything in it, including the name Block Leagues, the Detonator character, artwork, sounds, voices, music and code, belongs to Max One Studios or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. These Terms do not give you any ownership rights.
8. Third-party services
The game uses services from other companies, including Google (ads and privacy consent) and Supabase (league servers). Your use of those parts of the game is also subject to their terms and policies.
9. Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop any part of the game at any time, including features, rules and scoring. The game may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or if a service we rely on is down. We do not promise that the game will always be available or free of errors.
10. Disclaimer
The game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no promises of any kind about the game, including that it will meet your expectations, be uninterrupted or be free of bugs.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Max One Studios will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of progress, scores, rankings or data, arising from your use of the game. Our total liability to you for any claim about the game is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $10. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be limited.
12. Ending these Terms
You can stop playing and uninstall the game at any time, and you can ask us to delete your league data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access to the leagues if you break these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be handled in the courts of British Columbia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. If the changes are important, we will tell you in the game. If you keep playing after an update, you accept the new Terms.
