Domino International Terms of Service
Effective date: date
1. Who we are and agreeing to these terms
Domino International (the "Game") is made by Max One Studios ("we", "us"), based in British Columbia, Canada. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and us. By downloading, opening or playing the Game, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
2. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to play the Game. If you are under the age of majority where you live (19 in British Columbia, 18 in most places), a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. The Game is designed for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
3. The Game is for fun — no real-money gambling
- The Game is a game of dominoes played for entertainment only.
- Casino-style chips, coins, rewards, spins, scores and leaderboards ("Virtual Items") are not money. They have no real-world value, and they cannot be cashed out, exchanged for money or prizes, sold, or traded outside the Game.
- The Game does not offer real-money gambling and does not award money or prizes of any kind. Success in the Game does not mean you would succeed at real-money gambling.
4. Virtual Items
- Virtual Items are licensed to you, not sold. We give you a limited, personal and revocable right to use them inside the Game. You do not own them.
- We may change, rebalance, limit or remove Virtual Items (for example, how many coins a win gives) at any time, including when we fix bugs or end a feature.
- Virtual Items can be lost if you delete the Game, clear its data or change devices, unless the Game offers a way to save your progress and you use it.
- Purchases (if offered later): if we ever offer Virtual Items for real money, those purchases are processed by the app store (Google Play or the Apple App Store) under its own terms. All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where the law or the app store's refund policy says otherwise.
- Using bugs, cheats or third-party tools to get Virtual Items is not allowed. We may remove Virtual Items gained that way.
5. Ads
The Game is free and is supported by advertising.
- Banner ads may appear in set places. We do not show pop-up ads in the middle of a hand.
- Rewarded ads are always your choice (for example, "Watch an ad to double"). If an ad fails to load or play, the reward may not be given.
- Ads are provided by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob). We are not responsible for the content of ads or for the websites or products they link to.
6. Your profile and online play
- You choose a player name, a picture from the Game's set and a flag. Your name must not be offensive, hateful, sexual, threatening, or pretend to be someone else, and it must not include personal contact details. We may change or remove a name that breaks these rules.
- When you play online, other players can see your name, picture, flag and in-game actions.
- If you disconnect or leave a game, a computer player may take your seat so the game can continue. The result counts as played.
7. Rules of conduct
You agree not to:
- cheat, use bots, hacks, modified versions of the Game, or exploit bugs;
- harass, threaten, bully or abuse other players, including through names or quick chat;
- try to fix games or work with other players to unfairly win (for example, two players secretly helping each other at a table with others);
- try to buy, sell or trade accounts or Virtual Items for real money;
- interfere with the Game, its servers or other players' enjoyment of it;
- copy, reverse-engineer or resell the Game, except where the law allows this despite this rule;
- use the Game for anything illegal.
You can block a player so you no longer see their messages, and you can report a player to us.
8. Enforcement
If you break these Terms, we may warn you, mute or limit you, remove Virtual Items you gained unfairly, or suspend or ban you from online play or from the Game, temporarily or permanently. We decide this fairly and in good faith. If you think we made a mistake, contact us at support@maxonestudios.com.
9. Our content and your licence to use it
- The Game and everything in it are owned by Max One Studios or licensed to us. This includes the code, art, characters (such as Ms. Stella, Jon Jon, Melvin, Ruben, Isabel and Malik), voices, music, logos and the names "Domino International" and "Max One Studios".
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and play the Game on your own devices for your own non-commercial entertainment.
- If you send us suggestions or ideas, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
10. Changes to the Game and these Terms
- The Game will keep changing. We may add, change or remove features, rooms or games, and we may stop offering the Game or online play at any time.
- We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you inside the Game. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new Terms.
11. No guarantees
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that the Game will always be available, free of bugs, or that your progress or Virtual Items will never be lost. Nothing in these Terms removes any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
12. Limit on our responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- Max One Studios is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for any loss of data, Virtual Items or enjoyment.
- Our total responsibility to you for any claim about the Game is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $10.
Some places do not allow these limits. If you live in one of them, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.
13. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting the Game. We may end these Terms or your access as described in section 8, or if we stop offering the Game. Sections 3, 4, 9, 11, 12, 14 and 15 continue after the agreement ends.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Before taking any formal step, please contact us at support@maxonestudios.com so we can try to solve the problem informally. Any dispute that is not solved this way will be handled by the courts of British Columbia, unless the consumer laws where you live give you the right to use your local courts.
15. General
- If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a rule straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Game.
- You may not transfer this agreement. We may transfer it if the Game is sold or moved to another company, and if that happens we will tell you.
